Le Clin d'Œil is a bistronomic restaurant, a wine shop and a wine bar located at the corner of rue Chauvain and boulevard Felix Faure. It can be seen discreetly from the green corridor, nestled at the foot of a beautiful Haussmannian building. It is Jessica Barbotto who imagines it in 2019. She defines her project around a concept that invites us to Carpe Diem, to epicureanism, in a space where time is suspended to a Mediterranean cuisine, sincere and respectful of local products.
Beyond the door, high ceilings decorated with stucco and crystal chandeliers blend with red brick facings to emphasise the subtle combination of authenticity and refinement. This ingenious combination is reflected in the menus, which combine local cuisine with carefully selected vineyards. The Chef works closely with local producers to create seasonal menus inspired by classic French gastronomic techniques for recipes that awaken the senses.
In the kitchen, Chef Julien Rives has distinguished himself by working in renowned restaurants in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, such as Régis Marcon's eponymous restaurant, Michel Hulin's Cabro d'Or, Benoît Vidal's l'atelier d'Edmond, and Olivier Brulard, one of the Best Craftsmen in France, who is a regular at Michel Guérard's. After more than 20 years of experience, Julien opened the Clin d'Œil alongside Jessica, offering a Mediterranean and gourmet menu. His key word? Authenticity with taste as a guideline. The freshness of the selected raw products is essential and constant for the elaboration of his menus.
